Description: Enterasys Networks textual conventions MIB defining station address types for User Personalized Network management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ENTERASYS-UPN-TC-MIB?

This is an Enterasys Networks textual-conventions-only MIB that defines shared data types (specifically station address types) used across Enterasys' User Personalized Network (UPN) family of MIBs. It contains no runtime data objects, tables, or notifications of its own; it exists purely to standardize type definitions referenced by other Enterasys MIBs. As such it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status and exposes no pollable operational data. Its dependency relationship runs in the opposite direction from most MIBs: other Enterasys UPN-related MIBs depend on the textual conventions it defines, rather than it depending on them. It is not deployed standalone but is imported wherever Enterasys UPN management MIBs are implemented on switches supporting user-personalized network features. Engineers can download the ENTERASYS-UPN-TC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ENTERASYS-UPN-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Enterasys (Extreme Networks) enterprise switches supporting User Personalized Network features

Monitoring Examples

This module is a pure textual-conventions definition file with no MODULE-IDENTITY runtime objects, tables, or notifications, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it simply defines shared address-type conventions that other Enterasys UPN MIBs import and use in their own object definitions.
