laTpLinkTest

Module: LANART-MIB

OID (symbolic): LANART-MIB::laTpLinkTest

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.712.1.2.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to disabled(2) disables the link test feature. This may be useful for interoperation with pre-10BASE-T equipment. Setting this object to enabled(1) enables the feature.

A return value of failed(3) indicates a link test failure for this port. A return value of not-applicable(4) indicates that the specified port does not have a link test.

What is laTpLinkTest?

This read-write enumerated object controls and reports the 10BASE-T link test feature on a specific hub port: setting it to disabled(2) turns off link test (useful for interoperating with pre-10BASE-T equipment per the description), enabled(1) turns it on, while failed(3) and not-applicable(4) are read-back status values indicating a link test failure or a port that lacks the feature. An admin would disable link test on a port connecting to older, non-compliant Ethernet equipment that doesn't support it. For example, seeing failed(3) on a given port would indicate a link test failure worth investigating, such as a bad cable.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.712.1.2.2.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> LANART-MIB::laTpLinkTest

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.712.1.2.2.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> LANART-MIB::laTpLinkTest.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.712.1.2.2.1.1.3.1 i <value>
