What Is KAV4FS-STATISTICS-MIB?
KAV4FS-STATISTICS-MIB is Kaspersky's product-specific module for Kaspersky Anti-Virus for File Servers, providing statistical counters reflecting the antivirus engine's ongoing scanning and protection activity. It exposes data such as counts of files scanned, malware/threats detected, and objects moved to quarantine or otherwise remediated. This is fundamentally a software-status monitoring MIB: it lets an administrator confirm the antivirus service is actively scanning traffic/files rather than stalled, and it surfaces detection volume that could indicate an active malware outbreak or a scan backlog building up on the file server. It is a standalone vendor product MIB with no significant dependency on other MIBs beyond the base SNMP framework, layered on top of the underlying OS/file-server platform it protects. It is deployed on Windows file servers running the Kaspersky Anti-Virus for File Servers product, polled by security operations tooling for antivirus health and threat visibility via counters registered under the KAV4FS-STATISTICS-MIB OID branch.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in KAV4FS-STATISTICS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- files scanned count
- malware/threat detections
- quarantined object count
- scan task activity status
Supported Devices
- Kaspersky Security for Windows Server (current v11.x) — actively maintained file-server antivirus product per Kaspersky's lifecycle page
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were captured for this module in this batch, so specific counter names cannot be cited verbatim; conceptually, an administrator would poll this MIB's scanning and detection statistics to confirm the antivirus engine is processing files normally, with a spike in detection counts or a stall in scanned-file counts respectively signaling a malware outbreak or a stalled scan engine on the file server.
