Category: VPN and Security, Vendor: Juniper

Description: Defines conformance statements for IKE (Internet Key Exchange) VPN key management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-IKE-CONF?

Juniper-IKE-CONF is a Juniper Networks proprietary AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of the Internet Key Exchange (IKE) VPN key-management functionality the SNMP agent on Juniper E-series platforms implements. It belongs to the Juniper enterprise MIB family covering VPN/security features on E-series routers. As a pure conformance module it defines no runtime data objects, counters, or traps itself; it exists to describe agent-level support for the underlying IKE-related MIB(s). Its explicit dependency is on Juniper's IKE data MIB(s) whose object and notification groups it enumerates. It is used internally by management systems to determine whether a given E-series device's agent supports IKE/VPN key-management monitoring before attempting to poll those objects. Engineers can download the Juniper-IKE-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-IKE-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper E-series routers (VPN/IKE gateways)

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no sample data objects because it is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement for the IKE component of the Juniper E-series SNMP agent, listing which IKE object/notification groups are supported rather than exposing live security-association data. A management station would use it to check IKE monitoring feature support prior to polling the underlying IKE data MIB. No monitoring scenario applies since it carries no runtime-monitorable objects.
