Last Updated: 2003-05-08
Category: Protocol: DHCP, Technology: IPv6, Vendor: Juniper
Description: Defines conformance statements for DHCPv6 management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-DHCPv6-CONF?
Juniper-DHCPv6-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that documents which parts of the DHCPv6 management MIB(s) are implemented by the SNMP agent on Juniper E-series routers. It does not define any runtime data objects itself; instead it declares implementation-specific compliance, variations, and support levels for the underlying DHCPv6 MIB used to manage DHCPv6 relay/server functions. As a pure conformance artifact it carries no hardware or software status counters of its own and is not something an operator polls for live monitoring. Its purpose is to let an NMS or MIB compiler determine agent capability rather than to expose CPU, memory, uptime, or interface state. It is used only in the context of Juniper E-series broadband routers that support DHCPv6 client provisioning. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the Juniper-DHCPv6-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-DHCPv6-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper E-series broadband router
Monitoring Examples
This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES definition with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe; it exists solely to declare which OIDs of the associated DHCPv6 MIB the agent implements.
