Description: Defines conformance statements for bridge and spanning tree management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-Bridge-CONF?
This MIB defines SNMP agent capabilities (conformance) statements for the Bridge component on Juniper Networks E-series edge routing platforms. It does not itself expose data objects; rather it declares which parts of the standard Bridge and Spanning Tree MIBs the Juniper E-series SNMP agent actually implements, including supported groups and compliance levels. In a monitoring context this is used indirectly to determine whether bridging and spanning-tree status such as port forwarding/blocking state, topology change counts, and bridge uptime can be polled reliably from a given device. It depends heavily on the standard BRIDGE-MIB and related IETF bridging MIBs, since it is a conformance overlay rather than a standalone data model. It would typically be consulted by NMS integrators validating agent capabilities before deploying bridge/STP monitoring on Juniper E-series hardware. Engineers can download the Juniper-Bridge-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-Bridge-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper Networks E-series edge routers
Monitoring Examples
An integrator checking Juniper-Bridge-CONF would confirm whether the agent supports dot1dStpPortState and dot1dTpFdbTable polling before building a spanning-tree topology map. Because this module only contains AGENT-CAPABILITIES statements, there are no pollable counters here directly; instead it is cross-referenced against BRIDGE-MIB objects to know which are safe to query on Juniper E-series boxes. A mismatch between expected and declared support would explain why certain bridge OIDs return no-such-object on a given firmware release.
What Can Be Monitored
- supported Bridge MIB groups
- spanning tree conformance level
- agent capability compliance for BRIDGE-MIB objects
