All MIBs › JUNIPER-V1-TRAPS-MPLS
Category: Alarm and Event Management, Protocol: MPLS, Vendor: Juniper
Description: Juniper Networks MIB providing SNMPv1 trap definitions for MPLS protocol events and label-switched path state changes.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is JUNIPER-V1-TRAPS-MPLS?
JUNIPER-V1-TRAPS-MPLS is a Juniper Networks proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 2636) defining an early MPLS LSP-state trap: an mplsLspUp notification signifying that a specified label-switched path has come up, with the current active path identified by its mplsPathName. As a protocol-status/notification MIB it exists purely to alert an operator via SNMP trap when an MPLS LSP transitions to the up state, rather than to expose pollable counters. It is deployed on Juniper routers running MPLS traffic engineering. Engineers can download the JUNIPER-V1-TRAPS-MPLS file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in JUNIPER-V1-TRAPS-MPLS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper Networks routers (MPLS traffic engineering)
Monitoring Examples
An operations team subscribes to the mplsLspUp trap to get immediate confirmation when a newly provisioned or previously-failed LSP comes back up, including which specific path became active.
What Can Be Monitored
- MPLS LSP up-state trap notifications
