Description: PEPLINK IPsec VPN MIB providing SNMP objects for monitoring IPsec tunnel status, peer connectivity, and traffic statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IPSEC-VPN?

This is Peplink's proprietary MIB for monitoring IPsec VPN tunnels on Peplink routers/firewalls. Per its role, it exposes tunnel-level configuration and status objects covering IPsec peer/tunnel identity, connectivity state, and traffic statistics. It is used to monitor the software/connection status of VPN tunnels, specifically whether a tunnel is up or down, its peer's reachability, and traffic volume, which is critical for diagnosing VPN outages. It relies on the underlying IPsec protocol framework but is a vendor-specific, non-IETF-standard implementation. It is deployed on Peplink multi-WAN routers/firewalls used for site-to-site or remote-access VPN connectivity. Engineers can download the IPSEC-VPN file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IPSEC-VPN. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Peplink multi-WAN routers/firewalls

Monitoring Examples

No specific object or table names were provided in the source excerpt, so exact OIDs cannot be cited. Based on the module's stated purpose, an admin would typically poll a per-tunnel status table for tunnel state (up/down), peer IP address, and bytes/packets transferred to detect a VPN tunnel that has dropped or is experiencing high packet loss.
