Description: An alternate routing metric for this route. The semantics of this metric are determined by the routing- protocol specified in the route's ipForwardProto value. If this metric is not used, its value should be set to -1.
What is ipForwardMetric3?
This holds an optional third routing metric value for a route (e.g., latency or reliability). Most systems set it to -1 if unused. A network admin uses this when multiple routing metrics must be considered to choose the best path through the network.
