Description:
An alternate routing metric for this route. The semantics of this metric are determined by the routing- protocol specified in the route's ipForwardProto value. If this metric is not used, its value should be set to -1.
What is ipForwardMetric2?
This object stores an alternate metric value used by some routing protocols to compare different routes to the same destination; a value of -1 means the metric is not used. This is marked obsolete in newer SNMP standards but still present in many devices for backward compatibility. Network operators might use this when working with older routing protocols that require multiple metric values for route selection.
