Module: INTEL-S500-MIB
OID (symbolic): INTEL-S500-MIB::txAllCounterPackets
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.10.3.1.1.37
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-only
Description: A collection of all counters for byte and packet counters. This object is needed to optimize SNMP traffic. The counters in this string are:
txStatIndex INTEGER txOctetsHis Counter txOctetsLos Counter txUCPkts64Octets Counter txUCPkts65To127Octets Counter txUCPkts128To255Octets Counter txUCPkts256To511Octets Counter txUCPkts512To1023Octets Counter txUCPkts1024To1518Octets Counter txMCPkts64Octets Counter txMCPkts65To127Octets Counter txMCPkts128To255Octets Counter txMCPkts256To511Octets Counter txMCPkts512To1023Octets Counter txMCPkts1024To1518Octets Counter txBCPkts64Octets Counter txBCPkts65To127Octets Counter txBCPkts128To255Octets Counter txBCPkts256To511Octets Counter txBCPkts512To1023Octets Counter txBCPkts1024To1518Octets Counter
The values are represented in the OCTET STRING in the listed order, each value stored as a 32 bits big engine value.
What is txAllCounterPackets?
A single OCTET STRING bundling together 20 of the port's byte-and-packet transmit counters (octet high/low words plus all the unicast/multicast/broadcast size buckets) as consecutive 32-bit big-endian values, in the fixed order documented in the DESCRIPTION. It exists purely to let a management station fetch this whole family of counters in one SNMP request instead of 20 separate ones, reducing polling overhead on busy switches. A tool consuming this object must parse it according to the exact field order given in the source MIB.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.10.3.1.1.37 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> INTEL-S500-MIB::txAllCounterPackets
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.10.3.1.1.37.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> INTEL-S500-MIB::txAllCounterPackets.1
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> txAllCounterPackets.1
