portSnmpPort
Module: INTEL-S500-MIB
OID (symbolic): INTEL-S500-MIB::portSnmpPort
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.10.2.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: Returns the port which this SNMP request went through. This gives the port on which the SNMP management system is connected.
What is portSnmpPort?
Identifies which physical switch port the current SNMP request arrived on, i.e. the port the management station is physically connected to. It's a self-referential diagnostic value rather than a per-port setting -- reading it from a different port each time confirms which uplink is actually carrying management traffic. This is handy when tracing an unexpected management path through a stack.
