defaultSwitchMode

Module: INTEL-S500-MIB

OID (symbolic): INTEL-S500-MIB::defaultSwitchMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.10.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Default switch mode. This is used by the object portSwitchMode when it's value is default(1)

What is defaultSwitchMode?

Sets the switch-wide default forwarding mode used by any port whose own portConfConfigSwitchMode is left at default(1). Valid choices are cutThrough, fragmentFree, storeAndForward, or adaptive, trading off latency against error-checking. An admin lowering error rates on a noisy segment would typically move this from cutThrough to storeAndForward.
