Module: INTEL-EXPRESS110-MIB
OID (symbolic): INTEL-EXPRESS110-MIB::portSecureAdminMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.2.2.1.10.1.17
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Causes a port to be administratively disabled if an un-authorized MAC address is detected as having transmitted a frame into this hub port. A trap is also generated when an unauthorized source MAC address is detected.
An unauthorized source MAC addresss is defined as follows:
If a portSecureMAC is specified, any frame received from this port which does not originate from the specified portSecureMAC is unauthorized.
If no portSecureMAC is specified, the first source MAC address detected on this port is the authorized MAC. Any frame originating on this port with a different MAC address from the first MAC address detected is unauthorized.
Older Management modules (those which do not support RMON) will not allow enabling of port security due to hardware limitations.
What is portSecureAdminMode?
Enables port security, which administratively disables the port and sends a trap if a frame arrives from an unauthorized source MAC address — either one that doesn't match a configured portSecureMAC, or, if none is set, any MAC other than the first one seen on the port. An admin uses this on access ports to prevent unauthorized devices from being plugged in; note older Management Modules without RMON support can't enable this feature.
