ieee8021PbbMirpPnpEnable

Module: IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB::ieee8021PbbMirpPnpEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: A Boolean value specifying the administrative status requested by management for attaching a MIRP Participant to a PNP if and only if this system is a Backbone Edge Bridge (BEB):

true(1) The BEB is to attach a MIRP Participant to exactly one Port, either a management Port with no LAN connection external to the BEB, or a PNP. false(2) No MIRP Participant is to be present on any PNP (or on the MAC Relay-facing side of a CBP).

The value of this object MUST be retained across reinitializations of the management system.

What is ieee8021PbbMirpPnpEnable?

This true/false value (default true) controls whether, on a Backbone Edge Bridge, a MIRP Participant is attached to exactly one Provider Network Port (or management port) as opposed to none at all. An admin sets it based on whether this BEB should actively participate in MIRP registration propagation toward the provider network. For example, disabling this would ensure no MIRP Participant exists on the PNP side of this bridge, effectively excluding it from that registration exchange.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.10
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB::ieee8021PbbMirpPnpEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.10.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB::ieee8021PbbMirpPnpEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.10.1 s <value>
