ieee8021PbbMirpDestSelector

Module: IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB::ieee8021PbbMirpDestSelector

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: An enumerated value specifying what destination_address and vlan_identifier are to be used when the MIRP Participant transmits an MIRPDU towards the MAC relay entity:

cbpMirpGroup (1) Use the Nearest Customer Bridge group address from Table 8-1 with the MIRP B-VID. cbpMirpVlan (2) Use the Nearest Customer Bridge group address from Table 8-1 with the Backbone VLAN Identifier field from the Backbone Service Instance table. cbpMirpTable (3) Use the Default Backbone Destination and Backbone VLAN Identifier fields from the Backbone Service Instance table.

The value of this object MUST be retained across reinitializations of the management system.

What is ieee8021PbbMirpDestSelector?

This enumerated value selects which destination address and VLAN identifier the MIRP Participant uses when transmitting an MIRPDU toward the MAC relay entity: the group address with the MIRP B-VID, the group address with the Backbone VLAN from the service instance table, or the default destination and VLAN from the service instance table. An admin configures this based on how they've structured backbone VLAN and service instance addressing in their PBB deployment. For example, choosing cbpMirpTable(3) would have MIRPDUs use the default backbone destination and VLAN defined in the Backbone Service Instance table rather than a fixed group address.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB::ieee8021PbbMirpDestSelector

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-MIRP-MIB::ieee8021PbbMirpDestSelector.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.9.1.1.1.9.1 i <value>
