Description: Huawei security statistics IP monitor MIB for tracking per-IP anomaly detection and DDoS mitigation statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-SECSTAT-IP-MONITOR-MIB?

HUAWEI-SECSTAT-IP-MONITOR-MIB is a Huawei vendor MIB for security statistics, providing per-host IP anomaly detection and DDoS mitigation statistics on Huawei networking/security equipment. It is intended to expose counters and status per monitored IP address, reflecting the volume and type of anomalous or attack traffic seen for each host, supporting Huawei's security/anti-DDoS feature set. As a monitoring MIB it centers on security event/fault statistics rather than classic hardware sensors: operators poll it to see which hosts are experiencing attack traffic and how mitigation is performing, functioning like a fault/anomaly dashboard for network security. It is part of Huawei's broader security-statistics MIB family and likely complements other Huawei anti-attack/firewall MIBs. It is typically deployed on Huawei routers, switches, or anti-DDoS appliances at a network edge where per-host traffic anomaly detection is enabled, and administrators can download the HUAWEI-SECSTAT-IP-MONITOR-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser for these deployments.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-SECSTAT-IP-MONITOR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei router/switch/anti-DDoS security appliance

Monitoring Examples

No object names were provided in sample_objects for this MIB, so a concrete polling example can't be grounded in real identifiers; based on the module description, one would expect a table of monitored hosts with anomaly/attack packet or byte counters per IP. An operator would poll per-host anomaly counters to identify which internal hosts are the target or source of a DDoS attack. A sudden spike in a specific host's anomaly counters would prompt investigation or automatic mitigation action.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-host anomaly/attack statistics
  • DDoS mitigation counters
  • monitored IP host status

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using hwSecStatIPTcpSessTo OID:

Select a Huawei router/switch/anti-DDoS security appliance (per-host anomaly stats) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hwSecStatIPTcpSessTo into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. The number of TCP session to this host. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
