Description: Huawei power supply MIB for monitoring power module status, input voltage, output load, and power redundancy state.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-POWER-MIB?

HUAWEI-POWER-MIB is a Huawei hardware-monitoring MIB dedicated to power subsystem management on Huawei chassis-based equipment. It exposes power-module operational status, input voltage, output load/current, and overall power-redundancy state. Its monitoring purpose is squarely physical hardware health: detecting a power module transitioning out of a normal operating state, an out-of-range input voltage, or a loss of redundancy are all early indicators of an impending power-related outage that could take down the whole chassis if the remaining supply also fails. It is typically used alongside Huawei's entity/environment MIBs, which identify the physical module positions that the power objects refer to. It is deployed on Huawei chassis-based routers and switches with redundant power supplies in data-center and carrier environments, where SNMP monitoring of the power subsystem is essential for detecting an impending outage early.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-POWER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei chassis-based routers and switches with redundant power supplies

Monitoring Examples

No sample object names were provided for this module. In general, an operator would poll each power module's operational status and output load, watching for any module reporting a fault or an unexpected offline state. A redundancy-state object changing from redundant to non-redundant is a critical alert, since it means only one power supply remains active and any further failure would cause a full chassis outage.

What Can Be Monitored

  • power module operational status
  • input voltage
  • output load/current
  • power redundancy state
  • power supply presence/failure
