hwPimNeighborAddCount
Module: HUAWEI-PIM-STD-MIB
OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-PIM-STD-MIB::hwPimNeighborAddCount
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.149.4.1.49
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter32
Access: read-only
Description: The number of new neighbor found events that have occurred.
This counter is incremented when the new neighbor is come up.
This counter is incremented whenever a hwPimNeighborLoss notification would be generated.
Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, for example when the device is rebooted.
What is hwPimNeighborAddCount?
Read-only counter of how many new-PIM-neighbor-discovered events have occurred on this router, incremented each time a new neighbor comes up; a rising count during steady-state operation (rather than at startup) can indicate a flapping adjacency worth investigating. Note: the source MIB's own DESCRIPTION text for this object literally says the counter increments 'whenever a hwPimNeighborLoss notification would be generated' -- that sentence appears to be copy-pasted from the neighboring hwPimNeighborLossCount object's description just above it in the MIB and describes the wrong event; based on this object's name and its first descriptive sentence, it actually counts new-neighbor discoveries, not neighbor losses. Discontinuities can occur across a reboot/reinitialization.
