hwPimInvalidRegisterNotificationPeriod
Module: HUAWEI-PIM-STD-MIB
OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-PIM-STD-MIB::hwPimInvalidRegisterNotificationPeriod
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.149.4.1.31
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: The minimum time that must elapse between hwPimInvalidRegister notifications originated by this router. The default value of 65535 represents an 'infinite' time, in which case no hwPimInvalidRegister notifications are ever sent.
The non-zero minimum allowed value provides resilience against propagation of denial-of-service attacks from the data and control planes to the network management plane.
The storage type of this object is determined by hwPimDeviceConfigStorageType. DEFVAL { 65535 }
What is hwPimInvalidRegisterNotificationPeriod?
Read-write minimum interval, in seconds (10-65535, default 65535/'infinite'), between hwPimInvalidRegister trap notifications; the enforced non-zero floor exists specifically to stop an attacker from using malformed Register messages to flood the management plane with traps, so an operator should not set this below what the device allows even when trying to get faster alerts.
