Description: Huawei LSP ping and traceroute trap MIB defining notifications for MPLS LSP connectivity test completion and failure events.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-LSP-PING-TRACE-TRAP-MIB?
HUAWEI-LSP-PING-TRACE-TRAP-MIB is a Huawei MPLS diagnostics MIB, described as covering the "LSP quality detect function," that defines SNMP notifications (traps) for MPLS Label Switched Path (LSP) ping and traceroute connectivity tests. Rather than exposing polled runtime data tables, its primary content is trap definitions signaling the completion, success, or failure of an LSP connectivity test operation. In monitoring terms it functions purely as a fault/event-notification mechanism for the software-level health of MPLS label-switched paths, alerting operators asynchronously when a scheduled or on-demand LSP ping/traceroute detects a connectivity problem rather than providing continuously pollable counters. It complements the MPLS LSP-related management framework (built on concepts from IETF MPLS LSR/LSP-PING MIBs) with a Huawei-specific trap extension. It is deployed on Huawei MPLS-capable routers and switches within carrier or enterprise MPLS backbone networks. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-LSP-PING-TRACE-TRAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-LSP-PING-TRACE-TRAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei MPLS routers/switches
Monitoring Examples
This module is trap/notification-focused rather than a polled data-object MIB, so there is no continuous counter to poll; instead an admin would configure the SNMP manager to receive the LSP ping/trace completion and failure traps and alert whenever a failure notification is raised. A trap indicating an LSP trace failure would reveal a broken hop or misconfigured label along the traffic-engineered path.
What Can Be Monitored
- LSP ping test completion
- LSP traceroute completion
- LSP connectivity failure events
