Description: Huawei BRAS RADIUS MIB providing configuration and statistics for RADIUS authentication, authorization, and accounting on broadband access servers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-BRAS-RADIUS-MIB?

HUAWEI-BRAS-RADIUS-MIB is a Huawei proprietary MIB exposing configuration and statistics for the RADIUS authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) subsystem on Huawei Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) platforms. Its data generally covers RADIUS server-group configuration and per-server request/response counters (authentication requests, accounting requests, timeouts, retries) used to assess AAA health for broadband subscriber sessions. Its monitoring value is software/service status: confirming RADIUS servers are reachable and responsive, tracking authentication failure or timeout rates that would prevent subscribers from logging on, and validating accounting delivery so billing data isn't lost. It works in conjunction with the standard RADIUS client-MIB conventions (RFC 2618/2620) in spirit, while being a Huawei-specific implementation tailored to BRAS. It is deployed on Huawei BRAS platforms at carrier broadband edge networks where RADIUS drives subscriber authentication and accounting. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-BRAS-RADIUS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-BRAS-RADIUS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei BRAS (Broadband Remote Access Server) platforms

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided in the source data, so exact table/object names cannot be confirmed; in practice, an operator would poll per-RADIUS-server counters for authentication requests, timeouts, and accounting requests on the BRAS to detect a RADIUS server becoming unresponsive, which would manifest as subscribers failing to log on to broadband service.

What Can Be Monitored

  • RADIUS server reachability/status
  • authentication request/timeout counts
  • accounting request counts
  • RADIUS server-group configuration
