What Is HPN-ICF-MAC-INFORMATION-MIB?

HPN-ICF-MAC-INFORMATION-MIB is an HP/H3C Comware proprietary MIB implementing MAC Information, a feature that reports learned/removed MAC address changes to a remote monitoring station via traps or syslog. Its objects cover a global enable flag, send interval, learnt/removed MAC counters, trap/syslog send counts, cache length, and work mode, a per-interface table with learnt/removed-enable flags, and trap objects (index, count, message text) including an extended format with moved-address/moved-VLAN/moved-from-interface detail. As a configuration/notification MIB it lets an administrator get alerted whenever a MAC address moves between ports — a useful early signal for a misconfigured loop or an unauthorized device relocation. It is deployed on HP/H3C Comware switches. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-MAC-INFORMATION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
