hpnicfFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type

Module: HPN-ICF-FDMI-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-FDMI-MIB::hpnicfFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.127.7.1.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: The supported FC-4 types attribute registered for this port on this VSAN. This is an array of 256 bits (32 bytes). The order of the bits in the 256-bit (32-byte) value is represented in network-byte order. If no FC-4 types has been registered, then the value of this object is the zero-length string.

What is hpnicfFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type?

This read-only 32-byte bitmask reports which upper-layer FC-4 protocols, such as SCSI-FCP, this HBA port has registered support for, encoded as a 256-bit array in network-byte order. SAN management software decodes this bitmask to determine what kind of traffic a given port is capable of carrying, which matters when validating zoning or device compatibility. A zero-length value for hpnicfFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type indicates the port hasn't registered any FC-4 type information with FDMI yet.
