Description: SLA Probe Type. IcmpEcho is similar to ping protocol and the destination should be enabled with responder functionality for udpEcho, udpJitter, udpJitterVoIP and tcpConnect. For DHCP and DNS, destination device should be enabled with DHCP and DNS servers, respectively.

What is hpicfIpSlaType?

Selects which probe protocol this SLA test runs — icmpEcho, udpEcho, udpJitter, udpJitterVoIP, tcpConnect, dhcp, or dns. An admin sets this when creating an SLA entry to match the service being tested, for example icmpEcho for basic ping-style reachability or dns to verify a target name server resolves queries correctly. Except for icmpEcho, the destination device must run the matching responder (or DHCP/DNS server) for the probe to succeed.
