hpicfSrcIpAddress

Module: HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB::hpicfSrcIpAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InetAddress

Access: read-write

Description: Administratively assigned IP address that should be used as source while sending application protocol packets. This object should be used in conjunction with the 'hpicfSrcIpAddrPolicy' MIB object.

What is hpicfSrcIpAddress?

This holds a specific, manually assigned IP address that the device should use as the source address for outgoing application-protocol packets when the configuredIpAddr policy is active. An admin sets this to a stable management-facing IP address so that syslog, SNMP traps, RADIUS, and similar traffic all appear to originate from one consistent, predictable source address regardless of which interface they actually leave through. Setting this to 10.1.1.1 would make the device stamp 10.1.1.1 as the source IP on its outgoing application traffic when the configuredIpAddr policy is selected.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB::hpicfSrcIpAddress

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB::hpicfSrcIpAddress.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.5.1 s <value>
