hpicfSrcIpAddrIfIndex

Module: HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB::hpicfSrcIpAddrIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-write

Description: Index of IP interface whose IP address should be used as source IP while sending application protocol packets. On multi-netted interface the lexicographically lowest IP address will be used. This object should be used in conjunction with the 'hpicfSrcIpAddrPolicy' MIB object.

What is hpicfSrcIpAddrIfIndex?

This identifies, by interface index, which IP interface's address should be used as the source IP for outgoing traffic when the configuredInterface policy is selected. An admin sets this to point at a specific loopback or VLAN interface so all relevant outgoing traffic consistently uses that interface's address as its source, regardless of the actual egress path. Setting this to the ifIndex of loopback interface 0 would make the device use that loopback's IP address as the source for its outgoing management traffic.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB::hpicfSrcIpAddrIfIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HP-ICF-SRCIP-MIB::hpicfSrcIpAddrIfIndex.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.13.1.1.1.4.1 s <value>
