Description:

What is hmSigConTrapCause?
This OID holds a numeric code identifying why an alert (called a trap in SNMP) was generated, with the specific device component identified by a separate index value. Reading this tells you the reason for the alert—such as a timeout, connection failure, or protocol error. A network operator uses this when investigating why an alert was triggered to understand what condition caused the problem.
