Module: HMPRIV-MGMT-SNMP-MIB
OID (symbolic): HMPRIV-MGMT-SNMP-MIB::hmSFPChangeTrap
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.1.0.11
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
This trap is sent when a SFP has been added or removed. It is also sent for an otherwise unsupported SFP.
What is hmSFPChangeTrap?
This trap is sent whenever an SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceiver module is inserted, removed, or detected as unsupported on a network interface. It alerts operators to physical interface module changes, allowing them to quickly identify hardware reconfigurations or problematic optics. The trap identifies both the interface group and interface where the change occurred.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HMPRIV-MGMT-SNMP-MIB::hmSFPChangeTrap snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.1.0.11
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
