Module: HMPRIV-MGMT-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HMPRIV-MGMT-SNMP-MIB::hmPowerSupply

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.1.0.2

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent if the state of a power supply unit changes.

What is hmPowerSupply?

This notification trap is generated whenever the operational status of any power supply unit (PSU) in the equipment changes, such as when a PSU transitions from operating to failed, or when a replacement PSU is inserted and comes online. The trap includes relevant context about which PSU changed state. A data center operator would set up SNMP traps on this event to get immediate notifications of power supply failures, enabling rapid replacement before the system loses redundancy or shuts down.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HMPRIV-MGMT-SNMP-MIB::hmPowerSupply
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.1.0.2

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
