Description: The timeout period in seconds approximately for aging out Unknown Multicast Groups dynamically learned with traffic snooping. The exactly value is UnknownLookupInterval/(UnknownLookupInterval-UnknownLookupResponseTime)*UnknownAgingTime. Note that aging operates on a per unknown multicast group basis. The default is 260 seconds and the range is 3 to 3600 seconds.

What is hmIGMPSnoopUnknownAgingTime?

This parameter specifies the timeout period in seconds for removing unknown multicast groups that were dynamically learned through traffic snooping. The actual aging time calculation is complex and depends on lookup intervals and response times, with a default of 260 seconds and a valid range of 3 to 3600 seconds. Network administrators adjust this to balance multicast group stability against resource conservation.
