Description: Provides miscellaneous Layer 2 switch management objects for H3C switches not covered by dedicated MIBs.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-LswMix-MIB?
HH3C-LswMix-MIB is a catch-all H3C MIB holding miscellaneous Layer 2 switch management objects that don't fit into other dedicated H3C MIBs, covering things like last-switchover timestamps and slot/board hardware status. It exposes objects for the date/time of the last main-processing-unit (MPU) switchover, the number of MPU switches performed, per-slot board status, and cross-bar (backplane switch fabric) status. This is squarely a hardware-status MIB: it reports whether the main board and cross-bar fabric are healthy, and tracks MPU failover history, key indicators of chassis-level redundancy health and hardware faults on modular switches. It has no single external standard dependency, functioning as a proprietary supplement to standard chassis/entity MIBs (ENTITY-MIB) for redundancy-specific state. It is deployed on modular, redundant-supervisor H3C switches where administrators need to confirm MPU failover events and backplane/cross-bar health. Engineers can download the HH3C-LswMix-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-LswMix-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C modular chassis switches (dual-supervisor)
Monitoring Examples
hh3cLswMpuSwitch and hh3cLswMpuSwitchsNum report whether and how many times a main processing unit failover has occurred, with hh3cLswLastSwitchDate/hh3cLswLastSwitchTime timestamping the most recent event — useful for correlating an outage with a supervisor failover. hh3cLswXSlotTable/hh3cLswXSlotEntry expose hh3cLswMainCardBoardStatus and hh3cLswCrossBarStatus per slot, letting an admin catch a degraded main board or failed cross-bar fabric before it causes a chassis-wide outage.
What Can Be Monitored
- MPU switchover count and timestamp
- main board status per slot
- cross-bar/backplane fabric status
