Category: DSL and Broadband
Description: Manages HDSL 730D1 modem units, providing loop performance, alarm, and configuration objects for DSL access.

What Is HDSL730D1-MIB?
HDSL730D1-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from GDC (General DataComm) for the HDSL 730D1 modem, another model in GDC's family of High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line units used to carry digital leased-line circuits over copper pairs. Like its sibling models, it exposes a MIB-version identifier, system and firmware version objects, and an alarms group (hdsl730D1Alarms) covering no-response, diagnostic receive-error, and power-up alarm conditions. Its monitoring purpose is hardware/fault status of the modem and DSL loop — detecting when the remote unit is unreachable, when the loop is experiencing signal errors, or when the unit has power-cycled — rather than traffic-layer statistics. It is a legacy, self-contained modem MIB with no significant dependency on IETF standard MIBs beyond baseline SNMP conventions, mirroring the structure of GDC's other HDSL modem MIBs (e.g., 711D2, GT1020). It's deployed at telco or enterprise demarcation points terminating leased digital circuits over an HDSL 730D1 unit. Engineers can download the HDSL730D1-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HDSL730D1-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- GDC HDSL 730D1 modem
Monitoring Examples
An admin would monitor hdsl730D1Alarms, specifically hdsl730D1NoResponseAlm, to detect when the paired remote modem goes silent, indicating a cable cut or far-end power loss. hdsl730D1DiagRxErrAlm rising would flag receive-side line errors suggesting a degrading copper pair before a hard failure. hdsl730D1PowerUpAlm activating unexpectedly signals a modem reset, and gdc730D1SystemMIBversion/hdsl730D1Version would be checked to confirm the deployed firmware matches the expected baseline across a fleet of these units.
What Can Be Monitored
- no-response alarm
- diagnostic receive-error alarm
- power-up (reboot) alarm
- system/firmware version
