gmplsInSegmentDirection

Module: GMPLS-LSR-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): GMPLS-LSR-STD-MIB::gmplsInSegmentDirection

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.166.15.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: GmplsSegmentDirectionTC

Access: read-create

Description: This object indicates the direction of data flow on this segment. This object cannot be modified if mplsInSegmentRowStatus for the corresponding entry in the mplsInSegmentTable is active(1).

What is gmplsInSegmentDirection?

This value records whether an incoming GMPLS segment carries data forward or backward relative to the LSP's signaled direction, extending the base mplsInSegmentTable with GMPLS-specific direction information. It matters because bidirectional GMPLS LSPs need explicit direction tracking per segment, and per the description this object becomes locked once the corresponding mplsInSegmentRowStatus is active, so it can't be silently changed once the segment is in service. For example, on a bidirectional optical LSP the reverse-direction segment would show a different direction value than the forward segment it's paired with.
