Module: FOUNDRY-BGP4V2-MIB

OID (symbolic): FOUNDRY-BGP4V2-MIB::bgp4V2PeerHoldTime

Description: The value of this object is calculated by this BGP Speaker as being;

zero (0) - if this was the value sent by the peer and this value is permitted by this BGP Speaker. In this case, no keepalive messages are sent and the Hold Timer

is not set.

At least three (3). This value is the smaller of the value sent by this peer in the OPEN message and bgp4V2PeerHoldTimeConfigured for this peer.

If the peer is not in the established state, the value of this object is zero (0).

What is bgp4V2PeerHoldTime?

This object reports the actual negotiated Hold Time in effect for an established BGP session, calculated as the smaller of the value this speaker sent and the value received from the peer in the OPEN message. Admins check this live value, distinct from the configured setting, to confirm what timing is actually governing the session. For example, a value of 0 here while the peer is not in the established state confirms the session hasn't yet completed negotiation.
