Description: Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch outbound Telnet MIB for managing outbound Telnet session parameters and connection limits.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EdgeSwitch-OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB?

This is a Ubiquiti Networks private enterprise MIB for the EdgeSwitch family of managed switches, covering outbound Telnet session behavior — i.e. Telnet sessions the switch itself initiates to remote hosts. It exposes configuration objects for outbound Telnet parameters such as session/connection limits and related timeout settings governing how many concurrent outbound Telnet sessions the switch permits. It is a configuration-only MIB with no hardware sensor data, but it is used to confirm management-plane software behavior — ensuring outbound Telnet session limits are set as intended to avoid resource exhaustion or unintended remote-session exposure on the switch's management CPU. It has no notable dependency beyond the standard SNMPv2 SMI conventions shared with Ubiquiti's other EdgeSwitch private MIB modules. It is deployed on Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch managed switches in SMB and campus environments where outbound Telnet is used for diagnostics or device-to-device connectivity. Engineers can download the EdgeSwitch-OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EdgeSwitch-OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch managed Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

No sample_objects were provided; consistent with its description, a realistic use would be reading the configured outbound Telnet connection-limit object to confirm the switch isn't permitting more concurrent outbound sessions than intended, which could otherwise strain the management CPU.

What Can Be Monitored

  • outbound Telnet session/connection limit
  • outbound Telnet configuration state
