Description: Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch auto-VoIP QoS MIB for automatically prioritizing VoIP traffic based on protocol detection.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EdgeSwitch-QOS-AUTOVOIP-MIB?

EdgeSwitch-QOS-AUTOVOIP-MIB is a Ubiquiti Networks vendor MIB for the EdgeSwitch product line's Auto-VoIP QoS feature package, which automatically detects and prioritizes VoIP traffic without manual ACL configuration. It exposes per-interface Auto-VoIP configuration, including VLAN assignment, OUI-based (vendor MAC prefix) phone detection, and protocol-based detection with configurable priority/remarking schemes, organized in a per-interface table. As a configuration/software-status MIB it lets an operator confirm Auto-VoIP is enabled and correctly detecting phones on each port — checking agentAutoVoIPProtocolPortStatus/agentAutoVoIPOUIPortStatus to catch a port where VoIP detection has silently stopped working, which would manifest as call-quality degradation. It depends on standard QoS/CoS concepts (802.1p, DSCP) referenced implicitly through its priority/remark objects. It's typically deployed on Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch devices in small-to-midsize networks carrying VoIP phone traffic that need automatic call-quality prioritization without hand-tuned QoS policies. Engineers can download the EdgeSwitch-QOS-AUTOVOIP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EdgeSwitch-QOS-AUTOVOIP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch (managed Ethernet switch)

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll agentAutoVoIPTable/agentAutoVoIPEntry indexed by agentAutoVoIPIntfIndex to check agentAutoVoIPProtocolMode and agentAutoVoIPOUIMode on each port, confirming whether protocol-based or OUI-based VoIP detection is active. Checking agentAutoVoIPProtocolPortStatus and agentAutoVoIPOUIPortStatus would reveal whether a specific port is currently detecting VoIP traffic; a port with phones connected but showing an inactive detection status would explain unprioritized, choppy voice traffic on that port.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Auto-VoIP detection mode per port
  • VoIP detection status per port
  • OUI-based priority configuration
  • protocol-based priority scheme
  • VLAN assignment for VoIP
