totalCollisions

Module: ETH-SWITCH-MIB

OID (symbolic): ETH-SWITCH-MIB::totalCollisions

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.4.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: This object is used for LED control to display collision. Values in the string are the total collisions at each port. The number and order of values equals the ifIndex. Each entry is 4 bytes. The first 4 bytes of the string is the value of portLastChange.

What is totalCollisions?

Packs a per-port total collision count, used internally to drive collision-indicator LEDs, into a byte string ordered by ifIndex, 4 bytes per port, with the first 4 bytes again holding the portLastChange timestamp. Like totalRxTxPackets, it is meant for efficient bulk polling rather than per-port detail.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.4.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ETH-SWITCH-MIB::totalCollisions

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.4.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ETH-SWITCH-MIB::totalCollisions.1
