adaptiveForwardModeCrcsRange

Module: ETH-SWITCH-MIB

OID (symbolic): ETH-SWITCH-MIB::adaptiveForwardModeCrcsRange

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.5.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies together with adaptiveForwardModeCrcsOffset the maximum amount of crc errors during the sample time which forces the port out of Store and Forward. The value is specified in per mille * 1000

What is adaptiveForwardModeCrcsRange?

Works together with adaptiveForwardModeCrcsOffset to define the CRC-error threshold below which an adaptive-mode port is allowed to return to store-and-forward switching -- the source DESCRIPTION text for this object literally repeats 'forces the port out of Store and Forward' for both objects, but by analogy with the matching Runts pair (whose Range object explicitly governs the return threshold) this is understood as the re-entry threshold, not a second exit trigger. It provides hysteresis so the port does not oscillate in and out of store-and-forward mode as CRC error rates hover near the threshold.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.5.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ETH-SWITCH-MIB::adaptiveForwardModeCrcsRange

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.5.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ETH-SWITCH-MIB::adaptiveForwardModeCrcsRange.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.208.39.5.5.1 i <value>
