eriRouterSmsMemoryBlocksInUse

Module: ERICSSON-ROUTER-MEMORY-MIB

OID (symbolic): ERICSSON-ROUTER-MEMORY-MIB::eriRouterSmsMemoryBlocksInUse

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.218.2.16.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of blocks of memory in use in this entry. A block of memory is the amount of memory returned by a single call to the memory allocation routine in AOS. Hence the size of a block of memory is variable.

This statistic can be used to check for memory leaks. One possible strategy is to note the value, do some operations, undo the operations, then check the value again - the start and end values should match. If they do not, there may be a memory leak.

What is eriRouterSmsMemoryBlocksInUse?

This obsolete, read-only Unsigned32 object counts the blocks of memory in use for a module entry, where a block is the variable-sized chunk returned by a single AOS memory allocation call. The DESCRIPTION notes this statistic can be used to check for memory leaks by noting the value, performing and then undoing operations, and confirming the value returns to its starting point. For example, an admin records this value as 850 before a test operation and expects it to return to 850 afterward if no blocks were leaked.
