etsysTacacsClientSingleConnection

Module: ENTERASYS-TACACS-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-TACACS-CLIENT-MIB::etsysTacacsClientSingleConnection

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.58.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Description: Allows the TACACS+ client to send multiple TACACS+ requests on a single TCP connection. All configured TACACS+ servers MUST allow this NAS to use single connection mode.

What is etsysTacacsClientSingleConnection?

This read-write flag allows the TACACS+ client to send multiple TACACS+ requests over a single persistent TCP connection instead of opening a new one per request, provided all configured TACACS+ servers support this mode. Admins enable it to reduce TCP connection overhead on the TACACS+ server when a device generates frequent authentication or accounting requests. For example, an admin managing a device with heavy command-accounting traffic would enable etsysTacacsClientSingleConnection to avoid the overhead of a new TCP handshake for every accounting record.
