etsysSntpClientMulticastDelay

Module: ENTERASYS-SNTP-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-SNTP-CLIENT-MIB::etsysSntpClientMulticastDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.38.1.3.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The number of microseconds it takes for an unsolicited SNTP multicast message to travel from the SNTP server to the SNTP client. This value is added to the time encoded in the SNTP message to derive the correct system time. Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is REQUIRED.

What is etsysSntpClientMulticastDelay?

The estimated one-way network delay, in microseconds, added to the time carried in unsolicited multicast SNTP messages to compute the correct local clock value, defaulting to 3000 microseconds. An admin tunes this upward on a network segment with higher multicast latency to keep the derived time accurate.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.38.1.3.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-SNTP-CLIENT-MIB::etsysSntpClientMulticastDelay

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.38.1.3.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-SNTP-CLIENT-MIB::etsysSntpClientMulticastDelay.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.38.1.3.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> etsysSntpClientMulticastDelay.1
