etsysRadiusAuthClientRetries

Module: ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetries

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.4.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Description: The number of times to resend an authentication packet if a RADIUS Server does not respond to a request. Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is REQUIRED.

What is etsysRadiusAuthClientRetries?

This integer specifies how many times the client resends an authentication request packet to a RADIUS server that fails to respond before giving up on that server. It works together with etsysRadiusAuthClientRetryTimeout to control how persistently the switch retries a single RADIUS server before moving on, directly affecting how long a user waits during login when a server is slow or unreachable. An admin might set this to 2 so the device abandons a non-responsive RADIUS server after two retries and fails over to the next configured server faster.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.4.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetries

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.4.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetries.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.4.1.2.1 i <value>
