etsysMultiAuthFailed

Module: ENTERASYS-MULTI-AUTH-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MULTI-AUTH-MIB::etsysMultiAuthFailed

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.46.1.0.2

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: An etsysMultiAuthFailed trap signifies that the SNMP entity, acting in an agent role, has identified a station that attempted and subsequently failed to authenticate on one of its interfaces. The included objects of etsysMultiAuthStationAddrType and etsysMultiAuthStationAddr uniquely identify the station that attempted to authenticate. The interface that the station attempted to authenticate on is specified by the ifIndex object, and the type of authentication attempted is specified by the etsysMultiAuthSessionAgentType object. This trap will only be generated on interfaces that are in the authOptional(3) or authRequired(4) state.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ENTERASYS-MULTI-AUTH-MIB::etsysMultiAuthFailed
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.46.1.0.2

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:62355->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (30167955) 3 days, 11:47:59.55
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: ENTERASYS-MULTI-AUTH-MIB::etsysMultiAuthFailed
