Description: The Contact identifier; identical to the Contact Number. This object is not-accessible to MIB browsers, but had to be changed to read-only to satisfy SMIv2 syntax checkers if it is included in traps.
What is xupsContactIndex?
This is the unique numeric identifier for a row in the contact-sensing table, matching the physical contact number on the EMP. It is the table index used to correlate a contact's type, state, and description entries together; the MIB notes it is really non-accessible data exposed as read-only only so it can be included in traps. Index 1 corresponds to the EMP's first digital input, so xupsContactType.1, xupsContactState.1, and xupsContactDescr.1 all describe that same physical contact.
