Category: Vendor: D-Link
Description: Manages error-disable state detection and automatic recovery configuration for ports on D-Link switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Dlink-ERRDISABLE-RECOVERY-MIB?
This D-Link private MIB manages the errdisable recovery feature on D-Link switches, controlling automatic recovery of ports that have been administratively shut down due to detected fault conditions such as BPDU guard triggers, loopback detection, or storm control. It exposes global configuration (recovery interval, per-cause enable settings) and per-interface runtime state showing which ports are currently in errdisable state and why. It is squarely a fault/port-status monitoring MIB: rlErrdisableRecoveryIfTable and rlErrdisableRecoveryIfReason let an admin see which ports are disabled and the triggering cause, directly supporting hardware/port-status monitoring and automated recovery timing. It builds on standard IEEE 802.1 port/interface conventions within D-Link's proprietary Radlan-derived MIB tree. It is typically deployed on D-Link managed switches in enterprise networks to automate recovery from transient port faults without manual intervention, aided by Dlink-ERRDISABLE-RECOVERY-MIB SNMP monitoring of per-port errdisable state.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Dlink-ERRDISABLE-RECOVERY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link managed switches
Monitoring Examples
rlErrdisableRecoveryCauseTable/rlErrdisableRecoveryCauseEntry with rlErrdisableRecoveryCause and rlErrdisableRecoveryEnable let an admin see which fault causes have auto-recovery enabled and the configured rlErrdisableRecoveryInterval. rlErrdisableRecoveryIfTable/rlErrdisableRecoveryIfEntry with rlErrdisableRecoveryIfReason and rlErrdisableRecoveryIfEnable reveal, per physical port, whether that port is currently shut down due to a detected fault and why. Polling this table across a switch stack quickly surfaces flapping or faulty ports that keep triggering errdisable events.
What Can Be Monitored
- errdisable recovery interval
- per-cause recovery enable
- per-port errdisable status
- per-port errdisable reason
- auto-recovery enable per port
