nndsxT3E3IfConfigLineCode

Module: DSX-TE3-MIB

OID (symbolic): DSX-TE3-MIB::nndsxT3E3IfConfigLineCode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.73.1.1.2.1.3.1.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This variable describes the variety of zero code suppression used on this interface, which in turn affects a number of its characteristics.

linecode-B3ZS and linecode-HDB3 refer to the use of specified patterns of normal bits and bipolar violations that are used to replace sequences of zero bits of a specified length.

What is nndsxT3E3IfConfigLineCode?

This reports the zero-code-suppression line coding in use on the T3/E3 circuit, either B3ZS or HDB3, both of which replace long runs of zero bits with a pattern that includes deliberate bipolar violations so the far end can recover clock timing. It is read-only because the coding is normally fixed by the interface hardware and the carrier's line build, so an administrator reads it to confirm the module matches what the circuit was provisioned for rather than to change it.
