Description: Manages time-range profiles for scheduling ACL rules and other time-based policies on Dell DNOS devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DNOS-TIMERANGE-MIB?

DNOS-TIMERANGE-MIB is a Broadcom-authored private MIB for Dell DNOS devices that defines named time-range profiles (groups), rooted at fastPathTimeRangeGroup per the Broadcom FastPath switching-chip management convention, used to schedule when ACL rules or other time-based policies are active. It exposes a group-level table holding time-range definitions such as start/end times and applicable days. Its monitoring value is configuration/state verification: confirming whether a time-range group is currently active or inactive tells an admin whether a time-scheduled ACL or feature should be in effect right now, useful when troubleshooting unexpected traffic permit/deny behavior. It is part of the Broadcom FastPath-derived private MIB tree shared across several Broadcom-chipset-based switch vendors' software, with no dependency on IETF standards. It is typically deployed on Dell EMC Networking DNOS switches for scheduling ACL enforcement windows, where DNOS-TIMERANGE-MIB SNMP monitoring confirms whether a time-based rule is currently active.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DNOS-TIMERANGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell EMC Networking DNOS switch

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll the fastPathTimeRangeGroup table to enumerate defined time-range profiles and their configured start/end schedule, then check a given profile's current active/inactive indicator to confirm whether a time-scheduled ACL currently in effect matches expectations, revealing a scheduling misconfiguration if traffic is unexpectedly blocked or allowed outside the intended window.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured time-range profile definitions (fastPathTimeRangeGroup)
  • time-range group current active/inactive state
  • association of ACLs/features with a time-range group
