dVlanPortIfMode
Module: DLINKSW-VLAN-MIB
OID (symbolic): DLINKSW-VLAN-MIB::dVlanPortIfMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.21.1.4.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object indicates VLAN mode for the port. access - this port will be untagged member of the access VLAN configured for the port. hybrid - the port can be untagged or tagged member of all VLANs configured by the user. The purpose of this VLAN mode is to support protocol VLAN, MAC-based VLAN, voice VLAN and dot1q VLAN tunnel application in access side. trunk - this port is either tagged or untagged member port of its native VLAN and can be tagged member of other VLANs configured by the user. The purpose of a trunk port is to support the switch-to-switch connection. dot1qTunnel - the port behaves as an UNI port of a service VLAN. privateVlanHost - the port behaves as private VLAN host port. privateVlanPromiscuous - the port behaves as private VLAN promiscuous port.
When VLAN mode is changed, the VLAN related setting associated with previous mode will be lost.
What is dVlanPortIfMode?
This value sets the VLAN mode of a switch port — access, hybrid, trunk, dot1qTunnel, privateVlanHost, or privateVlanPromiscuous — which determines how the port classifies and tags VLAN traffic. An admin chooses the mode to match the port's role, such as trunk for a switch-to-switch uplink carrying multiple tagged VLANs or access for an end-host port carrying one untagged VLAN; changing the mode discards the VLAN settings tied to the previous mode. For example, setting this to trunk(3) on an uplink port lets it carry tagged traffic for many VLANs while staying an untagged member of its native VLAN.
