dVlanPortIfAcceptableFrameTypes

Module: DLINKSW-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLINKSW-VLAN-MIB::dVlanPortIfAcceptableFrameTypes

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.21.1.4.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates the acceptable frame types on the interface.

'admitAll' - Permits both tagged and untagged packet. 'admitUntaggedAndPriority' - Only untagged or Priority-Tagged packets received on this interface will be accepted and tagged packets are dropped. 'admitTagged' - Only tagged incoming packets are permitted and untagged packets are dropped.

What is dVlanPortIfAcceptableFrameTypes?

This value controls which incoming frame types a port will accept: all frames, only untagged or priority-tagged frames, or only VLAN-tagged frames. An admin uses it to enforce VLAN tagging discipline at the edge, for instance rejecting untagged frames on a trunk so they can't be misclassified into the native VLAN. For example, setting this to admitTagged(3) on a trunk port causes the switch to silently drop any untagged frames it receives on that port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DLINKSW-VLAN-MIB::dVlanPortIfAcceptableFrameTypes

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.21.1.4.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DLINKSW-VLAN-MIB::dVlanPortIfAcceptableFrameTypes.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.21.1.4.1.3.1 i <value>
